A room air purifier is used to clean the air in an entire room, whereas a laminar air purifier directs a soft, constant flow of clean filtered air to the user’s face. Room air purifiers can be used to clean the air in spaces that you have control over (such as your home or office), while you can use a laminar air purifier to reduce your exposure to contaminants such as virus and allergens when visiting places that you have no control over (such as a restaurant or airplane). It’s possible to use both types of devices at the same time.

Both kinds of air purifiers use the same underlying materials (fans and HEPA filters), but they are engineered differently.

A room air purifier’s airflow is turbulent as air is pushed through the filter by the fan, causing turbulent flow that mixes filtered and unfiltered air from the surroundings, as particles move in a very chaotic pattern. Since the purpose of a room air purifier is to clean an entire room’s air, turbulent flow is not a problem, since clean air will be dispersed and distributed throughout the room over time.

A laminar air purifier’s airflow is is pulled through the filter by the fan, creating a laminar flow that has a very high concentration of filtered air, and a very low concentration of unfiltered area as air particles in the laminar flow move in a straight line.

The goal of a laminar air purifier is to provide the user with clean air in their breathing space (the area in front of their face) in 10 seconds or less. Turbulent flow, through its chaotic movements, would entrap far more unfiltered air from the surroundings as compared to laminar flow. That’s why laminar flow is extremely important if the goal is to deliver as much filtered air as possible.

The decision to use H11 filters was an engineering decision. A few different types of filters were tested against each other to see which would provide the best performance – MERV-13 (>75% filtration efficiency), H11 (>95% filtration efficiency), and H12 (>99% filtration efficiency).

Filters are rated based on their filtration efficiency against particles at 0.3 microns (aka most penetrating particle size), because compared to particles smaller (under 0.3 microns) and particles larger (above 0.3 microns) than them, they are the hardest to capture.

However, filtration efficiency is just one part of the equation. Filters with higher filtration efficiency have higher pressure drop, which negatively impacts air flow. This means that for a H13 filter to achieve the same Clean Air Delivery Rate (CADR) as a H11 filter, the fan needs to operate at a faster speed, increasing energy consumption and noise level.

On the other hand, MERV-13 filters clean only 75% of the air that passes through the filter, which is significantly lower than the filtration efficiency of a H11 filter. So even if both filters have the same air flow, the H11 filter will have a higher CADR than the MERV-13 filer.

According to the manufacturer’s internal test results, both MERV-13 and H13 filters, which have 75% and 99% filtration efficiency respectively, generated 10 to 20% lower CADR than H11 filters. This goes to show that filters with lower air resistance, as well as filters with high filtration efficiency, do not necessarily perform better than H11 filters.

Thus, it was determined that H11 filters are the best option, given its superior CADR over the other two and how it strikes a balance between air flow, energy consumption, and noise levels.

Yes. Testing from an independent laboratory showed that both the AirFanta 3Pro (standard: T/GDAR 0001-2020, test report: KY202300057) and AirFanta 4Lite (standard: GB/T 34012-2017, test report: KY202302335) removed 99.99% of the H1N1 influenza virus.

As for SARS-Cov2 (COVID-19), based on findings from multiple studies, there is strong evidence that the virus resides in exhaled aerosols in the 1 to 5 microns range. AirFanta’s filters can remove 99.4% to 100% of viral aerosols in this range.

Our findings from both H1N1 and SARS-Cov2 (COVID-19) should also apply to other kinds of airborne viruses as well, as the size of viral aerosols exhaled from an infectious person doesn’t change much regardless of the type of virus.

Warranty

All air purifiers sold by dokuki on our official website (https://dokuki.com) and e-commerce stores (Shopee/Lazada), as well as dokuki’s authorized retailers and resellers in Singapore have 1-year local warranty coverage.

Once we are able to verify the information provided and that the product meets the requirement for repair, we will provide instructions on how to send your product in for repair.

Please note that all appointments are strictly by booking only, as we do not accept walk-ins for repair.

Extended warranty extends the warranty of your product by a certain period of time, giving you a peace of mind if your product requires repairs after the initial warranty period. The terms and conditions for extended warranty are the same as the terms for the initial warranty period.

You will have the option to add extended warranty to your product if the option is available on the product page. Please note that you cannot purchase extended warranty after the purchase of a product, meaning they have to be purchased together at the same time.

Orders

By default, all products shown on our website are in stock, unless stated otherwise on the product page, cart, or website.

Pre-orders will be shipped on the release date or estimated shipping date shown on the product page, cart, or website.

Back-orders will require up to 6 weeks for fulfillment.

Processing times take between 1 – 4 business days, depending on when the order was placed.

Pre-orders will be shipped on or after the release date, and back-orders will take 3 to 6 weeks.

Order cancellations are not accepted.

We can change your address if your order hasn’t shipped yet. Please contact us to change your address. We cannot change your address for orders that have already shipped.

If an in-stock item is ordered together with a pre-order or back-order item, all items in the order will be shipped together at the same time.

Depending on the contents and release date of products of your order, yes. Please contact us for more information. We cannot merge orders for orders already shipped.

Unfortunately, we do not accept returns, but we are happy to offer an exchange should your order arrive in a damaged state.

Depending on the coupon, yes. By default, the discount will only apply to the first order in the subscription, meaning it will not apply to recurring orders after the first order.

Subscriptions

A subscription allows you to receive a product on a recurring basis. Subscriptions will ship within 1 to 4 business days upon successful payment on the renewal deadline. Payment is automated, so you will not need to manually pay on your end. The delivery frequency (every month, 3 months, 6 months, etc) depends on the product that you have subscribed to.

Free shipping is offered for all subscription products. Minimum spend rules for free shipping will apply if a subscription product is ordered together with a non-subscription product.

Certain subscription products are offered at a price lower than what you would pay for individually, however they may have a minimum number of deliveries required before cancellation. Please check the product page for more information.

That depends on the renewal deadline. For example, if you subscribed to a subscription product with monthly deliveries on January 1st, your next renewal would occur on February 1st. Your card will be automatically charged on that date, and your order will ship within 1 to 4 business days upon successful payment.
