Air Changes per Hour (ACH) Calculator
Use this calculator to calculate the equivalent air changes per hour (ACH) provided by a room air purifier in an indoor space.
You will need the following information to calculate ACH:
- CADR (Clean Air Delivery Rate) of the room air purifier in m³/h (cubic meters per hour), or alternatively, select a room air purifier offered by dokuki (all speed settings included).
- Room Area in m² (square meters) or Room Length and Width in m (meters).
- Room Height in m (meters). The standard floor-to-ceiling height in most HDB flats in Singapore is 2.6 m.
We strongly recommend having at least 6 ACH in a home or office environment to reduce your exposure to harmful contaminants in the air. This is in line with the Singapore NEA’s (National Environment Agency) recommendation of at least 5 – 7 ACH. The higher the ACH, the cleaner the air.
We also strongly recommend owners of other types of premises such as schools, restaurants, hospitals, and clinics, to meet the standards set out in ASHRAE 241. Calculate the required CADR for your business or organization with our ASHRAE 241 CADR calculator. For more information, contact us for a free consultation.
