In order to receive the best protection, the manufacturer recommends setting the device to the lowest speed setting and positioning your face within 30 cm from the air outlet. Correctly aligning your face to the air outlet within the distance mentioned is important.
The device could also be used at medium (40 cm away from the device) or high (50 cm away from the device), however the protection will be reduced due to increased velocity and entrainment of unfiltered particles from the surrounding air.
The manufacturer also recommends using the device as an additional layer of protection for users protecting themselves from COVID-19, so it should be used together with a fit-tested N95 respirator whenever possible.

Yes. Testing from an independent laboratory showed that AirFanta 4Lite (standard: GB/T 34012-2017, test report: KY202302335) removed over 99.5% of the H1N1 influenza virus.
As for SARS-Cov2 (COVID-19), based on findings from multiple studies, there is strong evidence that the virus resides in exhaled aerosols in the 1 to 5 micron size range. AirFanta’s high efficiency filters can remove 99.4% to 100% of viral aerosols in this range in a single pass.

Studies that conducted quantitative fit testing on face masks (worn by common laymen without any modifications) found that they typically have a fit factor between 1 and 2. Assuming the average fit factor is 1.5, that is equivalent to 33.4% protection.

You should replace the filter every 150 to 200 hours of use. The filter lifespan largely depends on environmental conditions. For example, you may need to replace it more often when using it under environmental conditions such as haze or wildfire smoke. Visually inspect the condition of the filter (if it looks black or appears to be full of dust, it should be replaced!) if you are unsure. Filtration efficiency and overall protection will be reduced when a dirty filter is not replaced.
No. AirFanta 4Lite is meant to be a device to personally protect an individual. It will not be effective at cleaning the air in the room. You should use a room air purifier with a high CADR (clean air delivery rate), such as AirFanta 3Pro, instead.
Yes, but you should use it away from the room air purifier. This is because the turbulent airflow from the room air purifier could interfere with the laminar airflow of the device and reduce protection.

When in crowded or poorly ventilated/filtrated areas, there’s always a risk of catching or spreading communicable disease. A well fitted respirator or better is the best defense, and layered mitigation is important to help further reduce that risk. The Airfanta 4Lite is an excellent addition to your toolkit if it’s within your budget.
Adam Wong has engineered a very thoughtful take on “laminar flow” to blow a stream of almost completely clean air directly towards your face. It sports the following:
– a solid, but not heavy weight
– 3 fan speed settings to use depending on how far the device needs to be placed from the user
– doubles as a very large portable battery
– improves breathability while wearing masks
– comes with a nice carrying case
As mentioned by other reviewers, the primary downside is really that it isn’t whisper quiet. But considering far noisier fans are used all over when it’s hot or uncomfortable, it’s hardly an actual issue.
For those who are trying to keep safe until cleaner air is here, this is one powerful extra layer of protection when you need to unmask.

What a great device. Laminar air flow that this purifier provides creates a curtain of purified air for your face, making you so much safer. Great addition for traveling or office, or for risky situations when you may need to take your mask off. Neat, clean design. You can even charge your phone with it, the battery is so good.

We’ve been looking forward to getting the 4Lite as the other battery operated portable air purifiers are not as effective from what I’ve read in various third party reviews. We’ve been happy with the 4Lite (we also have the 3Pro). This product is highly recommended.

Finally a personal air purifier which not only works extremely well but also looks cool. It is light-weight and fits easily into a bag or rucksack and offers a fantastic, innovative design allowing you to project a protective bubble of clean air directly onto your nose/face. Added to this, once charged, it lasts for ages which, for me, offers the reassurance of knowing if e.g. I get stuck in hospital, this item won’t run out of power and will help keep me protected. I’ve been using this at work and at the occasional restaurant for months, and it’s really impressed me. I used to use it on the medium setting usually, but have switched to high because of illness going around at work, and while it’s louder it’s still impressive for how much it’s working. I’ve gone from carrying it in the box to carrying it in a bag to maximize portability, which has been good. I’m hoping to get something rubbery to anchor the base more when I’m at a wobbly table or something, but that’s only been an issue once. Everyone measuring its filtration capacity has had good results, so I feel more secure just knowing I have it on hand. Love it!

just ordered replacement filters – i’ve been using this for about a year & i bring it everywhere: it’s been a life-saver at work, on the train, and at home/when visiting family (since people don’t take precautions). the Low setting is super quiet (Medium isn’t that loud either imo) and it’s easy to carry around – i only need to recharge it once a week. i haven’t had any (symptomatic) cases since i started using this, though i’ve been around symptomatic people when using it – note: i only turn this on for quick meals if i’m not alone in a “clean” room with my CR box/AirFanta 3Pro (also works well) & i wear a KN95/N95 all day indoors + outdoors
