FAQ
In order to receive the best protection, the manufacturer recommends placing your face as close as possible to the air outlet (within 0 – 10 cm). Ensure that your nose and mouth are within the range of the air outlet. Correctly aligning your face to the air outlet at a close distance is important.
The manufacturer also recommends using the device as an additional layer of protection for users protecting themselves from COVID-19, so it should be used together with a fit-tested N95 respirator whenever possible.

Yes. Testing from an independent laboratory showed that AirFanta Wear (standard: GB/T 18801-2022, test report: KJ2025002910E) captured over 99.99% of the Human Coronavirus HCoV-229E.
As for SARS-Cov2 (COVID-19), based on findings from multiple studies, there is strong evidence that the virus resides in exhaled aerosols in the 1 to 5 micron size range. AirFanta’s high efficiency filters can remove 99.4% to 100% of viral aerosols in this range in a single pass.
Our findings from both H1N1 and SARS-Cov2 (COVID-19) should also apply to other kinds of airborne viruses as well, as the size of viral aerosols exhaled from an infectious person doesn’t change much regardless of the type of virus.
Yes, it can filter allergens, so it should be able to reduce allergy symptoms (due to less allergens being breathed in) when the device is used according to the instructions.
Testing from an independent laboratory showed that AirFanta Wear (standard: GB/T 18801-2022, test report: KJ2025003186E) captured 99.97% of pine pollen at PM2.5 size.
A fit testing advocate performed a quantitative fit test on the AirFanta 4Lite (another laminar air purifier that uses the same type of filtration material as AirFanta Wear) with an ambient particle counting device. In the test, the AirFanta 4Lite had a fit factor of 7.4 (equivalent to 85.92% protection) when set at the recommended speed, assuming the user correctly positioned their face towards the center of the air outlet.
Studies that conducted quantitative fit testing on face masks (worn by common laymen without any modifications) found that they typically have a fit factor between 1 and 2. Assuming the average fit factor is 1.5, that is equivalent to 33.4% protection.
No. AirFanta Wear mostly rests on the user’s chest and shoulders, so it wouldn’t strain the neck.
If you have health issues with your neck, chest, or shoulders, please do not use the device for a prolonged period of time and consult your doctor.
Yes. The angle and position of the AirFanta Wear’s air outlet is fully adjustable. There are three different kinds of positioning that are recommended:
1. Direct Mode – Directly facing the user
Adjust the air outlet so that it’s positioned directly in front of your face for the best protection. Ensure that your nose and mouth are within the range of the air outlet.
2. Side Mode – Facing the user slightly from the left or right side
Adjust the air outlet so that it’s positioned and slightly tilted at your left or right cheek, while making sure it’s as close to your nose and mouth as possible. This will allow you to eat or drink while using AirFanta Wear.
3. Upward Mode – Below the chin
Adjust the air outlet so that it’s supplying clean air at the bottom of your chin towards your nose and mouth. This method offers the least protection compared to methods 1 and 2, as the distance of the air outlet is further away from the user’s face, increasing turbulence and air mixing with the surrounding air.
While AirFanta Wear, AirFanta 4Lite, and AirFanta mini are all laminar air purifiers that provide protection to the user, they come in different form factors. Choose the laminar air purifier that best suits your needs.
1. AirFanta Wear
This is a wearable laminar air purifier, so you don’t have to hold it or place it on a flat surface to use it. The air outlet needs to be positioned closely to your face. You can use it in all kinds of scenarios and places without having to hold it, and the angle and positioning of the air outlet is adjustable, so you can use it while eating or drinking.
2. AirFanta 4Lite
This is a personal laminar air purifier that is meant to be placed on a flat surface, and your face should be within 30 cm to 50 cm away from its air outlet. Best used when sitting somewhere (such as office, school, airplane, restaurant, etc) for long periods of time, and/or while eating or drinking.
3. AirFanta mini
This is a handheld laminar air purifier meant to be held in one hand closely to your face. Best used when walking somewhere outside your home.
Although AirFanta Wear may appear to have two air outlets, there’s only just one (the air outlet pod on the user’s left). The other pod (control pod on the user’s right) contains the battery, buttons, RGB LED, and other components.
Yes. The device does not emit ozone or ions, so it can be safely used on an airplane.
Up to 4 hours. We recommend connecting the USB-C charging cable to a fast-charging AC adapter (sold separately).
You should replace the filter every 150 to 200 hours of use. The filter lifespan largely depends on environmental conditions. For example, you may need to replace it more often when using it under environmental conditions such as haze or wildfire smoke. Visually inspect the condition of the filter (if it looks black or appears to be full of dust, it should be replaced!) if you are unsure. Filtration efficiency and overall protection will be reduced when a dirty filter is not replaced.
Yes. The replacement filters are exactly the same and can be used with both devices.
No. AirFanta Wear is meant to be a device to personally protect an individual. It will not be effective at cleaning the air in the room. You should use a room air purifier with a high CADR (clean air delivery rate), such as AirFanta 3Pro, instead.
Yes, but you should use it away from the room air purifier. This is because the turbulent airflow from the room air purifier could interfere with the laminar airflow of the device and reduce protection.
The manufacturer recommends using AirFanta Wear away from wind sources, such as ceiling fans, electric fans, air conditioners, room air purifiers, and outdoor wind. This is because the turbulent airflow from wind sources could interfere with the laminar airflow of the device and reduce protection.
It is recommended to use the device at high speed when near sources of wind.
Yes. Local warranty lasting 1 year is included with this product. You can also purchase extended warranty for a peace of mind.
